Finlay is a real champion. All he wants to do is fight.
He beats people up for a living, and that's why he beat the hell out of Batista.
He walked away from Batista...because he was late for dinner. A good irishman always is on time.

Because he is a heel character and that is what they do, and that is the way the storyline was written. In real life Dave "Fit" Finlay is considered one of the toughest guys around and is not somebody you'd want to mess with since he spent a number of years working and wrestling around Europe for real at piss ant little carnivals, side shows and such.

Finlay is a tough SOB, he was the primary trainer of women wrestlers for the WWE while he was recovering from a piece of table going through his leg when he was with WCW.

Finley is not my favorite wrestler by any means, but he has his purposes. Without the bad guys, the good guys wouldn't be special. LOL!
