If they have no children together, no property, nothing that would require her to be an active part of his life....and the woman has expressed that she expected more. Basically he says they're just friends, he says they just talk about their respective children, relationships, old friends, etc., but she's said that she had expected them to be married within the next couple of years...once her life is back on track.

I would say no. And if she is having these kinds of conversations with him, and he is letting her, I would be sure he still doesn't want that relationship.
If you haven't talked with him about it, then it sounds like you should. Be upfront and honest with him. If there really are no feelings on his end involved, then he will have no problem disconnection communication with her. But talk with him first, he may not even know that it bothers you.

I'm still friends with my ex boyfriend. We didn't talk for about 5 years after we broke up. But now we talk for hours at a time. We talk about his kids and my kids. His girlfriend, my boyfriend. My total loser of an ex husband. His crazy ex girlfriend. It's great. It's kind of like having a really good girlfriend to talk to. But he has a guys opinion of things.

We even have a crazy agreement. If we are still single when we are 80, we're getting married! If we aren't single, we will at least live in the same nursing home! We have 47 years before that will happen.

There is no reason why a guy should have any type of active friends that are girls once they are in a monogomous relationship.

This is true for women as well.

the ONLY reason to activly talk, hang out, etc. they are only biding time because they expect the relationship to fail and they want someone for a backup.

If he can't "quit her" then you need to quit him.

NO he should not remain in a friendship, because friendships lead to relationships. at some point they will think about what they had in the past and what they could have now.

There's nothing wrong with the two of them remaining friends, but them thinking about the future together is obviously useless if they are no longer together.

better not.......... it doesn't take long to rekindle the old flame, especially wen the prsent is tuff. If u are still friends then there is a chance that u might again end up in a sensitive relationship

I am still friends with a couple old girlfriends. No big deal. We parted as friends with no hard feelings, there is no romantic spark today, so there is no reason we can't be friends.
