Yes you´ve heard correctly. Sadly, here in my country compensations when you´re fired are much better than compensations when you just go. So, I have 4 months to get fired. The thing is that I´ve always had great yearly reviews, but a promotion has been denied (they just can´t). It´s been 10 years now and I´ve decided It´s time to move on.
Now I´ll live in another country and we have no offices right there. So what´s the point of stay here without proper compensation?
Strange as it sounds, if they fire me would do for me, and I´d go happy. Another person with good reviews tried to talk and negotiate her way out, but they denied their request. What to do?
really tough one, Isn´t?

Oh. And those that don´t behave, they get it. It is the system that is twisted.

It's not tough at all. Try this:
come in late, leave early, stay on the internet as much as possible, ignore deadlines, play games, use the phone for personal use, and sleep at your desk if you need an afternoon nap.
When told that they've noticed you slacking say that you're just not challenged like you used to be and show no interest in staying with the company. You'll either get fired or promoted.

yes it is a toughie, and if u r in the US, it must be even tougher.
i can only give a wild shot. there r 2 things that bosses wud be wary of: religion and sex.
1. keep ur work efficieny level extremely high, so the good work reviews keep coming in. but turn to religion big time. every appearance of you shud be that u r into being a fundamentalist. pass moral comments on collegues and bosses. adorn your desk and stationaery with pics, motifs and the works. turn into a sainted aunt.
2. dont even think in terms of cheap virtual pornography. do it in real. dont romance a collegue. but be caught in the open (say within 100 meters of your office), doing it. or maybe in your office, after office hours.
but whatever you choose, make sure the reccos about your work stay fundu. the bosses shud find no problem with you as a worker. but just as an employee. they shud feel guilty that they have not given you a raise or a promotion, and it has turned into into a crazy character.
all the best.

I think that you are cheating if you try and get fired on purpose. We all have to struggle with job changes, even when we don't want to. You are no different. Grow up a little bit. Be responsible. It seems you are responsible holding down a job, but why should you be compensated if you no longer want to work there? That is just immaturity and foolishness. You should be counting your blessings that you even have a job. It is people like you that take advantage of our employment system, and make it harder on other people just trying to get by, paycheck to paycheck.

Well, that depends on your country for their rules on compensation. I could say just start skipping work every other day, showing up late every day, leaving early every day, etc. Those things in the US wouldn't qualify you for Unemployement compensation because you did things considered 'wrong' to get fired. Check with what rules you have in place and just basically start being a bad employee.

If you really want to get fired, just cuss out your bosses or don't show up for a few days and don't call in. I hope that you relize that whatever you do in this job will follow you to the next so if you get fired, you may have a hard time finding another.

Well, in the U.S., the sure-fire ways to get fired include: (1) Showing up late for work repeatedly or not showing up for work at all, (2) Doing substandard work or not performing your assigned duties, (3) Disrespect and/or insubordination with your boss or superiors, (4) Sharing privileged information or trade secrets -- but be careful with that because in some cases you can go to jail for that.

Spend as much time as possible on Yahoo Answers. Only discuss Yahoo Answers in any meeting that you are in or any conversations you have with colleagues. Publish spreadsheets to the company on how your Yahoo Answers point scoring is fluctuating. Change your job title to Director of Yahoo Answers on your business card.

Wow --- You have lots of suggestions already. Whatever you decide you need to do to have your employment terminated, just make sure no-one else is hurt in the process. It's one thing to put yourself on the line, but don't accidentally take any innocent bystanders with you.
