Bacterial vaginosis is very common. Antibiotics or antifungals were commonly prescribed in the past but now we (health care professionals) would recommend simple preventative measures e.g. use cotton briefs and avoid g-strings, avoid using deodorant or perfume in that area as this will change the PH of the skin and make the area prone to bacteria to thrive and proliferate. Avoid perfumed bubble baths, use simple stuff preferably non perfumed or simple soap and water and rinse thoroughly. If you shave, I would recommend you try to stop this practise and see if you notice a difference because shaving may damage the hair follicles which keep infection at bay because the skin has natural cleansing properties. If you came to see me, I would advise a high vaginal swab and endocervical swab and take it from there. Good luck!

sounds like you may have a vaginal infection. those bad boys cause MAJOR odor down there and even some discharge. you cant wash it away, or douche it away ( although you should stay away from douche's or feminine products with fragrances....those will leave you smelling worse than you started)
there are antibiotics that kill these kind of infections quite easily but there is a possibility that the smell wont go away. there are sites on the web that sell all natural herbal supplements that can kill vaginal infection antibodies and stop them from coming back. do your research on these though and make sure you find one that's FDA APPROVED!!
for the time being, other alternatives might be to try and have him please you while your both in the shower... the smell isnt noticable and you'll get what you want, even if the environment is different.
Hope this helps

Perhaps you just need to create the right environment for him to be comfortable. We all get a little musty down there after a few hours of sweat and heat, and it isn't that big of a deal.
You say that after bathing you have a three hour period of no smell, perhaps you should just start taking a shower right before you request him to go down on you. Perhaps you can take a shower TOGETHER and have him go down in the shower or bathtub?
edit: also, you say that your husband said to you "why does it smell like armpit" which says to me that you haven't really discussed your fears with him about this. Perhaps if you talked to your husband about your reluctance he will be far more understanding that you think. Don't be embarassed and tell him how you are worried about your odor. You should be able to talk to your husband about everything. Let him know that you are willing to shower immediatly beforehand, and spend some extra time washing that area. They make scented lubrication and oils that perhaps you could dab a small amount of around the labia during or before.
heck, if worst comes to worst, try rubbing chocolate or mint or some food item that has a strong odor around your vagina.

This may not be entirely your fault. Let me put it this way with a story...
When my ex and I were together, she frequently got yeast infections. When she started seeing her new boyfriend, she frequently got BV. This is probably not an accident - one of us was yeasty, and the other one of us had different things growing down there.
Practically speaking, if you DO have BV (sounds like it), it may just be a natural state for you or your husband. It may be that there is no long-term cure for it. What you can do is just use a short-term cure before you plan (or hope) to have sex. It will require more effort, but at least you can treat the symptom if not cure the problem.
The Center for Disease Control recommends the following to 'reduce the risk of upsetting the natural balance of bacteria in the vagina':
- Be abstinent. (that's no fun, though)
- Limit the number of sex partners. (sounds like that's not your problem!)
- Do not douche.
- Use all of the medicine prescribed for treatment of BV, even if the signs and symptoms go away.
Not much help there, really, but at least you know to avoid doucheing. Hope that helps!

Bacterial vaginosis can be quite tricky to get rid of in some cases. Sex can sometimes upset the natural "flora" down there. There is a product you can get at your local drugstore called RePHresh that works for a lot of women. Many of them use it right after sex to avoid the bacterial infection. Be sure your partner is always clean before sex and never mix anal play with vaginal play. That can cause a recurring infection in your vagina. Stick to 100% cotton underwear and avoid pantiliners too. Don't EVER douche. If you were meant to douche, God would have installed a faucet in you. It will make matters worse.
