There are no courses where I live and the closest craft stores are at least an hour away.

Do you go to church? We have a lot of different people who do a lot of different crafts and we teach each other how to do these crafts. I learned how to knit from some women at my church. I taught them how to crochet and cross stitch. (my bosses at Michaels would be unhappy to know this). As a result I have made a lot of scarves using the fun yarns. Try talking to the women at your church and see if someone would be willing to teach you. Good luck.

There products are good, but personally i suggest taking a course on learning how to knit, it is so much easy to learn froma person than a book. My mother and I took a learn to knit course about five years ago as a bonding experience. I could knit extremely well after the first class. It helps to have a person to tekk you what you are doing wrong. Check to see if your district offers adult ed courses such as learning to knit. While it is not immpossible to learn to knit form a book (I taught myself how to do cables from a book) it is still diffucult.

When it comes to yarn, Suss is great, but I prefer craft stores like Michael's and AC Moore. Check out craft storess for knitting classes as well.

Anyway, I hope you learn to knit. It is a great stress reliever and a good way to make quick bucks. When I was knitting in my college lounge, several people approached me about them learning to knit from me. I set up a class and charged a simple fee. In return they got knitting lesosns, needles that I had an abundance of (people have an obbsession with giving me knitting needles so I always have like six extra pairs) and skeins of yarn that I overbought.

Its also easy to make great presents! I can do a scarf in about 45 minutes using size seventeen needles and chunky yarn. A baby blanket usually takes me about a week, but I usually gets lots of warning before I have to make one so I have time.
