I think you need to have a good understanding of the direction you want to take in life before you can really answer this question. If your career goal is to practive law, then law school is certainly the way to go. But be prepared that law school is very expensive (especially the top notch schools) and will require years of hard work. Being a lawyer alone does not guarantee that you will make a good living and be happy with your decision. Unfortunately, I know many lawyers who spent upwards of $100,000 for their law school degrees and are still working on paying off their student loans.

If you enjoy your career and expect to practice law for the long-term, then this debt and hard work may be well worth the effort. However, if you are wavering in your decision to attend law school, you may want to wait a year or so and get a little practical experience in the legal profession (or in a different career path altogether) before you decide which decision is best for you. It's a tough lesson to learn if you spend three years and thousands of dollars to get through law school, only to learn you hate your chosen career.

But if the payoff is worth the hard work and the money to you, then I say go for it! Whatever you decide, good luck!!!!

I hear from a lot of people in your situation. I don't usually recommend applying to grad school "in case you don't get into law school". Assuming that law schools is what you really want to do, if you don't get in this round, there is alot you can do during the next year to make sure you do get in the second time.

Obviously, if you go to grad school during that year, you are holding yourself up by several years, maybe even permanently, and are not able to do what it will take to get into law school.

On top of that, trying to do a good job at both app's may prevent you from doing a great job at either.

There is a lot that you do have control over as far as being competitive. I have an entire booklet dedicated to showing how to get accepted by going the extra mile. And the booklet is free.

You can check it out at http://www.cuttsreviews.com/jcutts/lsat/

You are starting to run low on time to do a first rate job for Fall 07 admissions. You can still do it but you need to have a strong plan right away. The LSAT is of course critical. Many courses are very superficial, so it pays to be very critical about how you decide to prep. It can make the difference between getting in next year and having to wait.

For more free info on the whole process and on test prep options, go to http://www.cuttsreviews.com/jcutts/lsat/prepoptions.html

Only you can decide. But...do you want to prepare for failure? Do you want to do the "just in case I'm not good enough" route?
