sorry to hear that. i used to have a rabbit as a kid. Unfortunately i can not think of anything that you can do. Rabbits are able to have many babies in their lifetime so i think your rabbit should be strong enough to handle this one, just make sure she does not get pregnant again. Ask the vet for medicine that can help her stop the bleeding.

Get in touch with a different vet. A vet can administer 'oxytocin' and pain killers. Oxytocin should help the rabbit pass the apparently lodged baby. Should, being the key word---it may not work. If a baby is coming out correctly and is lodged, it can and will kill your rabbit. Your vet may also do a c-section (ie: cut open the female rabbits' belly to remove the babies), but I've never heard of such a thing being done on a rabbit---it may be too dangerous because of how fragile a rabbit is. It may also be cost prohibitive for you (especially if the vet doesn't accept payments).

This kind of problem is more common in 'dwarf' breeds of rabbits.

If your rabbit is suffering and another vet tells you there isn't anything they can really do (even after you suggest oxytocin), you should have her humanely euthanized---don't allow your rabbit to suffer.

And let this be a lesson---don't breed your rabbits. Get your PETS spayed and neutered.

I agree with the person who answered about the IV, you need to find a different vet if this one says there is nothing that can be done. she needs an iv to make sure her fluids stay up, and they can take the babies via c-section. keep her wrapped up warm but not hot until you get her into a vet, rabbits are easily sent into shock both from physical problems and fear. good luck

you need to TAKE her to the vet asap even if it isn't your regular vet. she needs help and it's a veterinarians job to help the animals. you have to be persistent and assertive with this; don't back down. and, get her fixed so she cannot get pregnant again. you should have had her fixed in the first place. with all of the unwanted pets that are in the world, why produce more that won't be able to find good homes and just end up homeless, neglected, tortured or abused. do the right thing, get your pets spayed or neutured.

You should consider having her spayed. It can happen while she is pregnant however it would be the equvalent of an abortion. This topic was discussed on the Yahoo group EtherBun. You can ask their advice however you may get some resistance since you knew the hard circumstances for your rabbit being preganant.

The vet should put her on an iv and keep her there. The vet could knock her down and take out the babies. If your vet is not willing then find another, if you are willing to do what it takes to keep your rabbit alive.

you can give her some calcium in the form of a tums with calcium tablet. This can help.

If you are really wanting to save her you can take her to the vet and have him spay her, she will live and not have to worry about getting pregnant again.

I had to do this with one of my E-lops that was having problems giving birth, it turned out she had torn her uterus and would never be able to push the kits out.

She shouldn't be bleeding - this sounds very dangerous for her. It sounds as if she is haemorrhaging. She needs to see a veterinarian who's an expert in rabbits, urgently.

I've got lists of reputed rabbit-savvy vets that I've collected -

It's a bit hard to tell from your question what's going on.
If the bleeding is what you're recalling from her first pregnancy, her second delivery should be much easier. Try not to stress her, and since she survived her first time, she'll probably survive her second.

have her fixed after giving birth so this can't happen again... it's your responsibility to watch out for her...or keep the male rabbit away from her.
