I look around and see all of the divorce, profanity and disrespect in this world. Are we, the parents that raise our kids with the fear of GOD and JESUS in their hearts now the minority? I saw such a turn around in my children when their dad and I remarried after he had an affair. I forgave him after a 2 year divorce and ran to Jesus. I only wanted him to find happiness......that was my prayer for him. We remarried after he asked Jesus to forgive him and he fogave himself. Our kids saw that and they lean on Jesus. I'm sorry to ramble but so many kids are being tossed away by a parent. They are loaned to us for such a short time. Why do so many parents find it so hard to be true to the family they have?

The problem is what you yourselves have come to realize. They need Jesus as their Savior. The world was wrecked when sin entered it. Since then, without Jesus, there has been nothing but man's inhumanity to man. Letting Jesus forgive your sins and following Him is the answer to all the problems. Don't let yourselves be fooled. Now that you are believers, don't get into thinking life is going on without a struggle. Get into a Bible believing and preaching church, have fellowship with other believers and have a daily time of prayer with Bible reading to keep yourselves on track. Then try to witness to others what Jesus has done for you. Then you might help your corner of the world get better.

I completely agree with you. I had a similar but completely opposite experience. After 10 years of marriage my children's dad chose to do the same as yours (as well as leaving the church), and then after a few more years (and his second failed marriage) he came back and I forgave him and thought all was well but again he chose to go his own path, all the while fighting for the minor children with the courts on his side (which to this day is hard to understand knowing these times are filled with lack of all you speak of). All we can do is pray! Prayer changes things. My children are now adult and I continue to pray daily that each of them will find and follow the Lord.

I understand why you are on your soap box, but we are all diffrent as life would be so boring. All families have differnt morals and life skills to bring to the family table as it were.

It does not mean the next family care less etc. You have not had the ideal situation yourself but you have come through it finding jesus, families work through alot of devstating issues, deaths or money issues, they just choose different guidence to seek the support.

Good for you though knowing what you wanted and getting re-married and actually being able to forgive!

First of all i'm a single parent. my view on this is so many times we as parents are trying hard to do better and correct some of the mistakes we have made in the past till we lose track of what really counts loveing and keeping our family together. FAMILY IS ALL WE HAVE in todays world.

i think you're leaning too hard on jesus and so are your children.
you should be leaning on each other, not some invisible dude in the sky....
i'm not bashing christianity, but it's hard not to when it rhymes so well with insanity)*big smile*
i try to teach my kids about values and the like and they respond well to it, but as to your question, that's not really answerable.
why do you live the way you live? it's too personal a question and wouldn't be answered by those who treat their kids in such a way anyway.same goes for this trend of thinking marriage and family is disposable.

I'm sorry - was that a question?

Are you equating morality and values with religion, if so then you are mistaken.

Morality and values exist outside of religious dogma. Many hindus, buddhists, shintoists, atheists, islamists, jews, etc., are extraordinarily moral, have very high values, and raise amazing children that make a difference in the world and humanity.
