Do you NOT live any where near a new car dealer ?
I hear of this sort of thing happening also at "Jiffy Lube" & "oil Express"
Dealers have certified technicians there to look over youy vehicle & they always run your VIN# to check for any open recalls or other problems & THEY ARE TRAINED TO DUE SO.
Why would you trust a minimum wage employee of a discount store of any kind with your vehicle? They have minimal training.
To save $2 ?
Check with your local dealer & I think you'll be surprised at the level of service & their low prices.

Yep, the first time they left the drain plug loose. It left a trail of oil from the garage to where they parked it and of course they didn't see it. The next time they stripped the plug & it wouldn't tighten. After about a week and a half it started dripping oil. I took it back and they said must be whoever changed it the time before must of stripped it. After I proved to them that they did it they had to pay for a whole new oil pan and labor at another garage. I'll never go back there again. Nothing but dim wits work in the garage

Oh goodness yes! You know how they do that supposed "32-Point-Inspection?" Well, 2 days after I had the oil changed, I had to take my car to the Ford dealership for some routine maintenance. Come to find out, their "32-Point-Inspection" wasn't much of an inspection at all! Tho the Wal-Mart inspection report showed that my air-filter was working properly, in good condition and did not have a need to be changed yet, the Ford inspection revealed that not only was the air filter filthy, but was actually falling apart! So glad Wal-Mart was so thorough. . . Yeah, right!

Thousands of people have had concerns after having their poil changed at independents, whether it be Wal-Mart, Jiffy Lube, or anywhere else. ALWAYS take your vehicle to a dealer for maintenance. It may be a little more expensive, and somewhat inconvenient, but if you show the manufacturer that you're willing to spend your money in "their" shops, then they are usually more willing to step up to the plate when something bad happens to the car. Especially if the work done by the dealer causes the problem. A lot of people don't know that you can call the manufacturer's customer service when something breaks down, but if you have no loyalty to their dealers (who work on almost nothing BUT the brand you're driving), they will not help you. If you DO have loyalty to their dealers, they step up in a lot of situations. At least GM does.

YES!!!! I took my van to Wal-mart for an oil change, before my son and I took off to the beach (a 7 hour drive) and my engine blew. I was told that they had used a synthetic blend in my car with the wrong weight. DONT GO THERE!

They probably put vegetable oil in it, what the heck do they know about changing oil.
Might as well take your car to Hallmark and get your oil changed there.

Same here. I was paying for what I thought was a full synthetic oil change only to find out it was a synthetic blend. Almost destroyed my motor.
