You are right neither party is doing anything, but understand, we have much of our resources tied up in Iraq and Afghanistan, Bosnia, Korea, and probably other places. we are stretched pretty thin, some things should be up to the rest of the world to try to fix, the United States cannot be everywhere all the time. Maybe if we didn't go into Iraq for no valid reason maybe we would be able to do something.

The Republicans have done more than "nothing"... The UN has to become involved.
"President George W Bush has announced US emergency food shipments to Darfur, a province of Sudan. He has asked Congress to approve $225m in aid. Sudan and the biggest rebel group signed a peace deal last Friday to end the three year old civil war, claiming more than 200,000 lives.
Condoleezza Rice, US secretary of state will address the UN Security Council to help speed up the deployment of UN peacekeepers to the Darfur region.
Richard Boucher, told reporters "US aid workers were continuing to have problems getting into Darfur, currently considered to be the scene of the world's worst humanitarian crisis. "The government has continued to play games with travel permits while the humanitarian situation in Darfur has deteriorated," he said. Three-day permits had been issued to some US aid workers, but after the three days had expired, he added.

There is nothing the Dem could do right now because they don't have any power in Washington. What do you think they can do without the HOUSE and SENATE or WHITE HOUSE. Do you think the Republicans would sign off on any proposal the Dems put through Congress. They haven't so fare and that should pretty much answer your question. Think about.

Nothing, just like no one did anything about Ruwanda. If Darfur was sitting ontop of a natural resource you bet we would have been there before CNN got ahold of it. It, unfortunately, will not be on a list of priorities, because we are over extended in Iraq. Iraq is sitting on one of the worlds largest oil reserves.

Give the Democrats credit, they are thinking about talking about thinking about doing something, but first they have to see if the UN will give them permission to think about talking about it. Not to worry, there should be a security council resolution allowing the Democrats to think about talking about it soon. Unless of course China or Russia vetoes it, in which case the Democrats will have to go into their default mode of not thinking and just talking. Vote Democrat!!!!

i'm saddened that there are human beings in this international who sense like they could have this way of potential over others. those adult males homicide entire families, rape women folk and babies, lob off palms and ft. You mean the Democrats who aren't in the White House, and who often have no ability to even get bills to the floor in Congress?

Other than speak out, not much they can do. In case you haven't noticed, the R's control the fed government. What's the rest of the world doing about it-- nothing. Heck, even the Muslims are doing nothing about it.
