My Dell 2400 is less than a year old. The memory id NOT under warrenty. A guy told me that you have to buy memory from DELL for my PC because other typers will NOT work on it.
True or False?

Well, Dell memory is GUARANTEED to work in a Dell PC, but you can really use virtually any memory in it...just make sure you get the exact same kind as what is already in there. Check out Crucial...they have a memory selector tool that can tell you what kind you need.

I've never heard of BOD memory.

Anyway. It depends on the type of memory module your Motherbaord requires. Dell uses a lot of proprietary crap, so it is highly possible you need to purchase the memory from them.
