I like to think of my senses and my reasons as a partnership, not a contest. But that doesn't mean its an equal partnership. My reasons are definitely in charge. They determine what sensory experiences to seek and how to interpret and store them once the sensory experience has passed. Without my reasons, my life would be a random, hedonistic catastrophe. However, the reasons need the senses to give them purpose. Without the senses, the reasons would have nothing to seek. They need each other. I just think rationalism is a better director than sensationalism.

first i thought u meant intuition versus reason, but now i see it as perception versus reason. well, they are interdependant (most psychological mechanisms by the way), reason uses the information gathered by perception and perception is affected by the way we understand things. if two people understand a process differently, they will perceive it differently first of all because they will focus on different parts and second because all perception is subjective. reason is affected by perception because that gives it its input data if u will, u can't solve a problem if u don't know anything about it.
now in real life i think trusting reason is better when they give u conflicting results because it is verifiable (perceptive illusions, escher's drawings for example)

i trust rationalism more because our senses can be hindered by so many things. but really, rationalism is just a sense as smell, touch, taste and sight are. things like alcohol can hinder our physical senses like sight, but also our rational senses our brain does.

Both. I go with my inner voice but if the facts conflict I usually go with the facts.
