I think your baby is pressing down on a nerve which is causing the numbing feeling in your rib cage. I am 30 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing a pain/numbness/tingling feeling in my left leg and eye which my doctor says is due to my baby pressing on a nerve. You can try some pelvic rock exercises to make the baby move, however in my case it didn't work, he just loves the position he is in. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy

I doubt that the baby is near that part of your body. Many women suffer from heartburn during pregnancy. If you still have this discomfort after the baby's birth, see a gastroenterologist.

I would think if it was heartburn you would recognize it. I had heartburn like crazy with this pregnancy and it's more of a burning sensation in the mid chest area and in the throat...I wish I could help you more but I honestly didn't feel it in my ribcage.

If it is heartburn try taking drinking a little juice with acid in it.(grapefruit juice or orange juice).
