I would go to Red Wing if I were you. It is scenic with all the bluffs and lookouts and the Mississippi. It is affordable, the hotels are and the food. They have a neat downtown that is fun to walk around.
Have a great time!

Duluth is a terrific weekend getaway. Especially this time of the year, as I imagine many of the leaves may be turning. Plus, you can walk along the north shore. My recommendation is to find a bed and breakfast there. Don't forget to stop at Toby's in Hinckley on your way up for some yummy carmel rolls! (or a quick stop at the casino just down the road).

I really enjoy staying at the Nicolette Island Inn, but if you would rather get away from the Cities try driving up to Alexandria and staying in a bed and breakfast and walking the sidewalks visiting their quaint shops.
