It has not been very often that one party has the Congress, presidency and the US Supreme Court, and hopefully it doesn't happen often, especially with those who's only agenda is to steal from the poor!
I have never seen such a corrupt and moral lacking administration!

Actually, the states stopped having an effective say in federal decisions about 80 years ago. The only actual limitations on the federal government are those imposed by Congress.
Granted, the states can do useful things like fix the electoral college problem, and most people's day-to-day lives are affected far more by local and state decisions than federal decisions.
There is no true representation of the people any more. We have become a system where those with money and power get to make the rules, and those without either find loopholes to survive, or get trampled on.
So, both are important, but at the top of the list this November would be the state governor (in many states), and Congress.

It depends. Generally, the national government decides on really big issues that affect the whole country like war and major laws, but state and local governments decide on more common, focal issues that will really influence your life more directly. However, the amount of power that each has varies depending on whether more Republicans or Democrats are in power. Republicans tend to delegate more authority to local governments and generally don't get involved in issues directly affecting the people of a particular state (though there have been plenty of exceptions, especially in recent years with issues such as gay marriage and Terry Schiavo), while Democrats tend to believe that the national government should devote more time to issues promoting social services, environmental protection, and welfare of the people--issues that Republicans prefer to cut from the national budget and leave to local governments. So typically, under a Democratic national government, the national elections are more important and under a Republican national government, the local elections are more important.

Both are important. The demands of the state are listened to in Washington. Vote in all elections, state and national.

While National elections are important, you really need your state and local governments to help campaign for your areas.

I think they are both equal and I don't want to seem indecisive, I just truly believe both are equal in today's world.
