I guess instead of "ignorance" the quote should have been "Laziness is bliss"; anyway, there could be something more than just laziness involved, I'm talking about chronic fatigue (made up of lack of concentration, headaches, insomnia, depression and so on), and the way to try beating that is a healthy diet, reducing stress, some exercise and even psychological asistence.
But maybe what you're asking about is indeed only laziness, so what's to be done to motivate yourself to get moving is the following trick that I also use: make up rewards for every step you take in the task you have to do, that should help. Maybe you remember that cartoon with the donkey that walked only if it had a carrot hung in front of him. It's something like that, good luck ;)

Sometimes it is not a case of laziness, but procrastination and/or depression.
I struggle with this, and I have a feeling my husband just does not understand and thinks I am lazy.
If you do a little bit at a time, this will help to build your mood up, and pretty soon, you will be doing many things at once, you never thought you could.
From my experience, everything had to be black and white. Either I cleaned the whole house, everything, or none of it got done. I don't do that anymore, I just do a little at a time, and it works for me.
Walking when you feel "lazy" may help you get the adrenaline flowing in your body. When you come home, you may feel like doing the things you need to do.

You have to want to not be lazy, get up in the morning and start moving, don't let it get you down. I believe the days I feel lazy are because I let myself, it is when I get up in the morning and I lay around. And there are people that do this everyday. Just get up and start your day out right with something healthy for breakfast and open the blinds.

Laziness is in genes. In India v say it is due2 effects of planetary positions in ur birth chart.
Now allopathy has no permanent solution in such a deep level. But Homoeopathy works wonder in genes levels.
U can minimise effects of ur bad planets by wearing some precious-stones after consulting some good astrologer.
Some suggestions2 remove laziness-1. do pranayam- watch astha TV daily at 6 am ist 2 learn 7 pranayams. This heals ur genes.2. Accept a ideal man as ur guru. Daily in morning bow 2 ur father and mother & keep good company of people and books..3. Take ayurvedic tonics, See URL below. 4. Take Homoeo medicines.
It seems ur good time is coming-i.e. why u r thinking in these lines.

Well, you're not too lazy to post a question on Yahoo Answers, so that is a first step to starting to do other things! Keep it up.

Drink lots of water - it has tons of benefits. Eat a healthy breakfast each morning. Get fresh air....just get out of the house. Workout or do some sort of physical activity (eg. gardening, go for a walk, etc.) - it will energize you.
If this doesn't work - go to Tim Horton's and get a large double-double. And, while you're there, pick one up for me too!

get hooked on meth.....
but seriously - it's hard to get motivated. whenever I can't get motivated to do something (cleaning, homework, etc) I break it down into little parts (I'll read 2 pages or I'll just empty one laundry basket) after I get started I get on a roll and just keep going. It's so hard to take that first step though.... I have to force myself. I drink alot of red bull to keep be going...
