only a year ago this was worst case scenario, with the US targeting Hugo while building a case against Iran like fake info against Iraq now widely discredited

why are these two world leaders joining up? don't we have enough instability already or is this justice of chickens coming home to roost, people pushing back, the stuff that Colorado professor was talking about?

America likes to tell countries what to do, and keep puppet regimes all over the globe, that is have hegemony over the globe. And of course continue the nonsense that it wants to bring democracy. Just last year the US tried to bring down the democratically elected government of Chavez through sponsoring a coup...there is nothing new about such interference. They did it in Iran in the early 1950s, I'm old enough to remember it, and then they trained the oppressive Iranian secret police SAVAK, and there is well-documented coup that American foreign policy caused in Chile. The result, the wonderful democratic socialist president, Allende, was killed, and the country went to General Pinochet who played ball with American corporations, and of course, lots of people were tortured and disappeared, etc. You can easily find lots of information on these events.

Well, Chavez and Iranian president are supporting each other because they have both not bowed to US pressure. They don't want American policies geared to preserving American corporate interests imposed on them. I wish our prime minister in Canada would have as much courage and loyalty towards our sovereignty as Chavez and Ahmadinejad, instead of playing the poodle to Bush. And even yourself, as an American, would you not want to see your government deal fairly and actually represent the American people instead of catering to the very rich minority there?

In all honesty, they are afraid of the United States taking over the world, which is exactly what we'd do if we had the chance. We always say we're trying to bring the world together, and act as one. But whenever a world organization (UN, NATO, Geneva Conventions) tries to impose its rules on us, we do whatever the hell we feel like, because "Who's gonna stop us?'. I hate that about our country, and until we prove to the rest of the world that we will hold ourselves just as accountable as the rest of the world, no one should trust us. Seriously.

The president get's too lots criticizes/credit for what is going on interior the country. We see them lots, yet congress is extremely what's responsible/thank for in spite of is going on. yet to respond to the question, i think of if a GOP president have been a approach or the different elected good now, he/she might in all probability be lots greater aggressive on foreign places coverage. Cheers

Excuse me Pinko, what are you saying? These two "world" leaders are coming together because they both want to see the "West" fall. After it does, they will be at each others throats, to gain dominance.
