A bird’s legs and feet lack fleshy muscles; they are made up mostly of tough tendons. Also, during cold weather little blood flows to a bird’s extremities. However, we’ve heard one report of a bird's feet sticking and another report of a bird's eye sticking to a metal perch. If you observe this unfortunate circumstance, please take a picture and send it to us. A bird can be freed from this rare predicament by pouring warm water over the contact point.

Ducks have very thin capillaries in they're feet, combined with 'leather like' skin on the feet they will not feel the cold as we do.
It's a dogs life 'cos they 'do' nothing! You have to feed, bathe, walk, play with them...
...cats, just feed 'em. They're happy!

ducks' feet don't freeze because of a structure called the rete mirabile. it is a fine network of veins and muscles that acts to regulate the temperature much more efficiently. giraffes have them too, in their brains to regulate blood pressure up and down their necks. it keeps them from being susceptible to problems like head rushes we get from standing up too quickly: without them giraffes couldn't even bend to drink. this website gets into how it works...
for the dog's life... when was the last time you saw a cat work for something? ;)

Dogs have owners, cats have staff. You don't *own* a cat, you share a house with it...and believe me you are below it on the totem pole!
And if you want to find the most comfortable spot in the house...look for the cat.

ducks do get cold feet that's why they spend a lot of time on the nest.

Dogs drink from toilets and obey their masters.
Cats only seem to want to drink whatever I am having, and take a message and get back to me.
