I think it's approximately 500,000. The government grossly underestimated.

Bearing in mind that not all migrant workers (who are LEGAL, I must add) are Polish (which I think is unfair discrimination against one nationality), I would say that there may be up to 1,000,000 migrant workers in the UK in total.

Does it matter? I think not. The current unemployment rate in the UK at the moment is far less than it was in the 1970's, so we're still doing much better nowadays.

And to those that believe that these migrant workers contribute nothing to society; have you not heard of income tax? If, for instance, 1,000,000 workers earned just £10,000 per year, that would amount to £1,000,000,000 PER YEAR. Not only that, boys and girls, but if every one of those people spent £1000 on "luxury" items (fridges, cookers, food, etc) in a year, this would amount to £57,142,857.

So, on average, legal migrant workers (which the majority are) contribute £1,057,142,857 to the UK economy.

And you're telling me they're not doing us any good?

Al.

curiously even our minimum salary is 5 time greater effective than they get at domicile. Thats why they artwork for it. And to the fool above who mentioned "getting education" to make you much less rather replaceable, properly possibly she'd prefer to describe how precisely to bypass approximately that as quickly as most of the 1st rate education classes available (which incorporate Computeach, instructor college) charge over £2,000 for his or her classes which makes them unaffordable to the familiar low paid workers (they credit examine previously they permit you to "unfold" money any such super form of individuals who've had economic problems is genuinely not familiar). My companion is an unskilled van motive force and his enterprise do not worry education their drivers to do better paid HGV artwork and so on presently via flood of ecu migrants keen to artwork for peanuts. regrettably, a lot of those migrants have for this reason been got here across to have solid or invalid licences which places the risk-free practices of the accepted public at risk. however the enterprise would quite hire a Pole with a dodgy licence than make investments income "education their very own" so purely how the hell is a youthful worker meant to get on interior the united kingdom presently?!

Too many.People just don't realise how many British jobs are lost to these immigrants.Employers love them because they work hard and don't complain(because most cant speak English),and why wouldn't they work hard? they are twice as much as they earned in Poland.
For the people who are against mass immigration you must vote
when you get the chance.
Read the BNP,s website, watch their rallies, maybe you will realise they are not the evil monsters that they are portrayed to be by the British media.
