Well I've loved both the recent ones - Christopher Eccleston was great and David Tennant is just fantastic (met him filming in Cardiff - he's lovely *sigh*!)
I used to watch Dr Who as a kid but I have to say I prefer the updated version. The episodes I used to watch in the early 80s all looked so naff - full of unconvincing plastic monsters and cheesy special effects. And Tom Baker's frizzy "Afro" hair used to scare me as a kid. Way scarier than the Daleks.
Plus both the actors who've taken on the role of The Doctor in the new, revised series have been fairly fanciable You can't really say that of Colin Baker or Sylvester McCoy . . .

i think mine actually had to be the "Rani" although she was only in 2 story's and played by the brilliant Kate O'Mara (and yes she was a timelord or lady)
But for the Doctor;s it would have to be a neck and neck contest between Sylvester McCoy and Christopher Eccleston, both played the part superbly and both never got to expand their characters fully, Sylvester's i enjoyed the darker side to his personality in later stories and this would have been good to see if the series had continued.
Christopher Eccleston had a very difficult job bringing back Doctor Who to an expectant audience as well as trying to captivate a new audience and i think he did this extremely well, especially as their is a hell of a lot of expectation , after the eighth Doctor Who film which should have been left on the drawing board.

I have to say Tom Baker was great but so are Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant, they give the show an updated feel.

I have a top four of Doctors.
1) Jon Pertwee
2) Christopher Eccleston
3) David Tennant
4) Sylvester McCoy
I am anticipating David to get a higher position once I see him in more episodes - I've not seen his first full series yet.

For me Tom baker will always be Doctor Who. It really depends on who was playing the part when you were at a certain age.
