I'm the same way, but I can't stand anything past 1760... Everybody just sold out...

I rather enjoyed the complexity and nuances offered in the later 18th century scene. True, the soul of the music gave way to the egos of such superstar composers as Bach, Mozart, and (dare I say it?) Hayden; but the power of the stage presence these "Baton Gods" was overshadowed by the beauty of their pieces. Eventually the talent started wearing thin though, leading to destructive tendancies. Wine, women, and song soon became just wine and women, leaving the music scene ripe for a take over by the romantics.

Yes, I believe it IS just you! But who cares what kind of music you like or don't like. It doesn't mean that nothing meaningful or enjoyable was written after 1750, just that you don't like it. So go ahead and crank up that Victrola and rock on, JS Bach!

1750?
Are you for real? I don't like anything after 1600.

Seems very small minded to me..you are a lover of only a specific kind of music - but not a music lover...I enjoy most all genres from all ages. BUT..to each his own...it's just your opinion/taste...certainly not most and not everybody's.

yes, it's just you. Maybe you should write some songs and show us your superior songwriting technique...
