No, it's time for him to step it up.

If Brunell has not improved his current performance soon, I think Coach Gibbs will make that decision. He is hurting the team at this point and this won't be tolerated much longer if Campbell appears ready. In all fairness, the absense of Portis is a factor in Brunell's poor performance. If Brunell can't get the job done with a more consistent running game, I think he will be benched for certain.

probably so. I'm sure the high ups in washington will be looking for a new QB in the off season. he's not bad, but he's getting old. he's not brett favre who still defies me even at his age. brunell will most likely be traded or replaced byt the end of the season. maybe even before that. unless he steps up BIG TIME then he's done. whenever portis gets back that will alleviate some stress on him since the redskins running game sucks azz right now. once portis gets back, we'll see if brunell still has some gas left in the tank.

Take the practical joke he and Chris Cooley played on Christian Fauria during the Washington Redskins training camp, when Brunell produced a bottle of so-called "nutrients" in the huddle to poke fun at Fauria's fatigue after practice the day before. Cooley enjoyed reciting all the details.

But ask Brunell about it? "That's in-house," he replied. "You're not privy to that."
In his 14th year in the league, Brunell is usually accommodating through good times and bad, but he's learned to draw a line between what he wants people to know and what he doesn't. The spotlight of playing quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars -- the only pro team in town -- and in Redskins-obsessed Washington has led him to value privacy.
Who cares?

I hate to say it, but yes I think it is. He has lost his consistancy as a quarterback. I noticed in last nights game against Dallas he missed a lot of open receivers by under or overthrowing his passes. I also noticed at least one play where he was sacked while Santana Moss was running wide open down the field. True he didn't have a lot of time to throw the ball, but on many of those plays he had people open, but he just didn't throw the ball. I do think they should keep him around as maybe a second or third stringer because with his experience he could help the younger quarterbacks. What gets me is the fact that Joe Gibbs doesn't seem to know this when it is so easy to see.

Brunell
1) cant throw that pigskin if hes on his back alot like yesterday
(thank you offensive line)

Way past time!! My husband, die hard Washington fan, was hoping he would break his arm last night, so they would have to put Campbell or someone else in. Me being a die hard Dallas fan was extremely happy with the outcome last night, but our QB is not much better!!!

He wasn't a great quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he was ok. As long as Joe Gibbs likes him, this may be his last season (or next year).

he did great last year. this season, he just hasn't seemed to grasp the new system Al Saunders has brought with him. yeah, i would say it's time for him to get with the program or retire. threw some really terrible passes last night. especially the floater that Roy Williams picked off.

Yes, I think it's high time you take a long, hard look at Jason Campbell and figure out whether or not he's the future...
