I'm libertarian. It's different than what we have now...it doesn't look much like anything we have had in the past...so open your minds beyond what you know...

sorry, rusty, if you confirmed your email, I would have done it in an email. But, I chose you as best answer, because I thought it honorable for you to admit that you use religion to justify one way of thinking, and abandon it to justify another way of thinking. I thought that was brave. Sorry if I offended you, but offending you wasn't the reason I chose you as best.

Freedom is the default state for human beings. Governments only have the option to screw it up or leave it alone. Therefore, a leader cannot be a just leader without preserving the freedoms that humans are born with. Stated differently, freedom and justice are symbiotic.

But, what do I know? You'll probably select this as the best answer just so you can call me a hypocrite in front of everyone else again.

MOST people want freedom and I have found in life that quite a lot of people WANT to be lead.

People want freedom to CHOOSE what they do but they also like people giving them options and guidance. They like to be lead by a "nice" leader as opposed to a dictator.

One example of people not liking freedom is convicts. Some men commit crimes right after they get out of prison so they get caught and sent back. They cannot adjust to the freedoms of the outside world. This is where I think halfway houses would beneficial in a lot of cases.

The above example is one of the reasons I do not think we can abandon Iraq at this time. They need to be taught how to be free. They like it - they just have to learn to deal with it emotionally.

Having an elected leader is a part of having freedom.

Americans have the most freedom of anyone in the world.
But.... more and more of us have our hands out wanting the government (taxpayers) to give us something.
When we accept hand-outs, we lose freedoms. We become Dependent.
Thats how the Democrat Party has always been so successful.... Using and exploiting people with their hand-outs.

What will you do without freedom? Fight and you may die. Run and you'll live, at least for awhile. But when you are dying in your bed, many years from now, would you be willing to trade all of the days from that to this for one chance, just one chance to meet our enemies and tell them that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!!!!!!

I wouldn't know.
I'm 54 and the closest thing I have seen to a real leader was Reagan.

I don't understand your question. We are free in the US and we have a leader.

I think that most people in the world have no true desire for freedom. If your hungry and poor, what does freedom do for you?
