I don't hate him at all.
He's taken a lot of criticism for his role in Star Trek, mostly people say that he was over-acting. Trying to be more dramatic than he should be. Myself, I never read that much into his acting. Mostly, I just thought Star Trek was a cool show.
Bill Shatner is hilarious. Watch the Shatner roast on Comedy Central and you'll see what I mean.

I think people hate Captain Kirk because he is always chasing after some interesting Alien woman. They are jealous of his ability to get the girl!!!

Never heard that before,
He was a good actor while starring in the original Star Trek series during the 60's but the Star Trek movies he made in the late 70's and 80's he was not so good.

I think most people don't like him because the manner in which he speaks is kind of annoying. However, I think another big thing that bugs people is that he's milking the show business for all they've got. (Something I respect him for). He's got his millions, and just keeps making more, but at the same time, he's enjoying himself. He doesn't have to work, but does because he enjoys it. Way to go Will!

It isn't really hate, people just like to make fun of his wooden acting style,including himself.Watch him closely sometime, he really overacts and hams it up.
