I am tired of hearing how people mention about the best footballers that are always fowards or attacking mid-fielders. I wanna know if anybody has favorite left/right backs, central defense, defensive midfielder, and goalies.
For me:
L/R backs: Thuram, Sangol, Lahm (a full back, but I like him on the wing), Cafu
Central Defence: Ayala, Desailly, Marquez, Koeman
Defensive Midfielder: Vieira, Deschamps, Mattaus, Dunga
GK: Yashin, Boruc, Kahn

Thuram, G. Neville, Lahm, P. Maldini, Cafu, Heinze
- Central Deffence:
Ferdinand, Terry, Nesta, Marquez
- Defensive Midfielder:

- GK:
Shmikel, Ricardo, Buffon

I think Carles Puyol, I mean Cannavaro had a great world cup, but he has been scord lots of goals in Juventus, and now in Madrid, Puyol i think gives it all in a game its just pure sacrifice, I remember a game when a player from the other team kicked very hard the ball towards the nets (I dont recall the other team) and he was in the floor and jumped ant put his face in the middle of the balls trajectory, thats real sacrifice, plus he runs really fast and never abandons his goalie
