Well I find Austria the tops,I lived in Ireland and drove the tour coaches, Yes Ireland North and South is great, but sure expensive now. I live in Austria now and tour Europe. I have yet to find a place in Europe to beat Austria. We spend 2-3 months every year driving around Europe in Summer and 3 weeks in winter solid on the road, from camp site to camp site in our van, sometimes we would stay in hotels for a little special treatment. but since I have also worked in hotels, I am too fussy for the average hotel. Austria has some of the best camp sites in Europe some 4 star and every thing you would expect in some hotels. But the hotels are good, esp. Vienna and Saltzburg, the food is much better than people in Britain can imagine, and reasonable, just go for a coffee in Vienna and you will know what I mean, So many places in Austria, you can't go wrong and the weather is much better than Ireland , Wales or Scotland, in Vienna we have the best water in the world in the tap, Natural thermal swimming pools, super clean natural water to swim in our rivers and lakes are the cleanest in Europe, you can drink them as they are, in summer they are warm, and we are next to Hungary and Slovenia for a change of environment and that is one of the cheapest places to buy clothing, good quality, not like that wear once and pay a fortune you have in Britain. and Quality shoes. great hyper markets on the boarders of the countries

Ireland - anywhere there but particularly Killarney. Massive big national park - lough and jaunting traps. A nice pretty town with many pubs traditional irish music or more contemporary ones. Close to Limerick and Kerry so you can go on trips there too.

My favourite is Turkey. The south coast gets very hot around June but there are loads of boat trips and water parks you can visit to cool. Nice mix of European/Asian culture.

OHhhhh, you mean "vacation" (sorry, dumb american).
My favorite was my honeymoon to Maui. It was perfect - 2 wks away and we went to every beach on the island.
TOTALLY worth the $6000 price tag.
