One: People call you multiple times in an hour to really have nothing to say. This is annoying. But, when I call to get something that I need to get to you; you suddenly don't pick up you phone. Two: Why give people your cell number if you have no intention on calling them back? Just don't give the number at all. I didn't ask for it. I just wanted to say hello. It is rude. Three: Don't act like you don't know I called when I know you have caller id. This is 2006. This is not the 90's where cell service was spotty. The phone rang. I know you know that I called. Call me back.

What I hate sometimes is how I could be in an area where service is limited. I can't make any outgoing calls because the capacity of the cell tower is maxed out. I need to make an important call and can't get through while 5 other people are standing around me having casual conversations and using up the bandwidth.

Secondly I hate people who have those earpiece phones and just walk around talking all day. They look right at me and I am constantly wonder if they are talking to me or if they are on the phone. And then when I disregard what they are saying because I think that they are on the phone they wonder why I am ignoring them.

Third- those annoying ringtones when people leave their cell phone lying around. The person calling them will make about 10 attempts to call them, thus hearing the stupid song more than I wish to. And then the constant beeping to let them know that they have a message. Why did they leave it lying around if they have it. I thought that the purpose of having one was so that people could contact you. But because you got annoyed by people calling you too much you want to leave it around so other people can be annoyed.

Cell phones in meetings are a real pain in the neck too! People going in and out of the room and people ignoring you while you are in mid-sentence to look at their phone to see who is calling. Oh.. and the worst is when people are getting driving directions over the phone WHILE they are driving.. so they will go 10 miles per hour and swerve through the middle of the street looking for the turn..

But my understanding was that the purpose of a cell phone was to be able to clarify arrangements with people or to get important instructions while away from the office.. i.e."..hey, where are you? I am around the corner and I will be there in 10 minutes" or "can you stop at my office and grab my briefcase on your way here? Thanks!" But not to just chit chat about nothing for 4 hours.

I have a couple ideas when cell phones first came out and were available to the public there was a huge advantage to business owners and sales reps because they didn't have to pull over trying to find a payphone, when they could be using there time in a more productive manner, but now u see teenager just yapping thinking that it improves there status, when they could be using there time more productively like towards there education, and I feel that alot of times people get cell phone just to keep tabs on someone else, how many times have you gotten a call said where u are or what you are up to called them rite back and all of a sudden they don't answers because they got what they wanted so I guess I know why some have them.I don't know why an 8 year old would need one people need to learn how to watch there children stop depending on technology "instinct" Parental smarts

Why do you just ramble on and on? People have cell phones, because they are convenient and you can't carry a payphone around on your back!

Leave your cell phone at home, if it causing you so much grief!

you could equate this cell phone thing with just about anything in life when it comes to dealing with other people. Lets just face it some people are just RUDE. Or rude and arrogant or a half dozen other bad traits. Its people it not the cell phone its how we treat other, and expect to be treated.

One other point. If you do have bad service the call will come as missed when you get back coverage. So you will eventual see someone called.

People have cell phones because they like to feel important. They like to talk LOUDLY while in public places to let everyone around them know just how important they are. "OH HONEY, I JUST WANTED TO SEE IF YOU WERE HOME! YEAH I'M AT THE STORE, I JUST GOT DONE WITH ALL THIS PAPERWORK! I'LL BE HOME IN FIVE MINUTES. DO YOU NEED ANYTHING?" Good, yeah, stop shouting. I'm sure she can hear ya. And you knew she didn't need anything, you just wanted everyone to know you had lots of paperwork. Guess what, we don't care!

People say they have them, "for emergencies." Think about this, if you're knocked unconscious lying by the side of the road somewhere, how are you gonna be able to use that cell phone? LOL.

I say ban them. Ban them all!

I'm sorry, I can't call you back right now because my phone is going berzerk right now (really, all anyone hears is static). You can talk to me and I'll hear you just fine though. So call, say whatever it is you needed to tell me and I'll hear you. You just won't hear me. I'm getting a new phone when I get paid though, I promise. Oh, and I bought the cell phone because I'm a manager and have to be reachable (is that even a word??) at all times.

Because people are stupid enough to believe the publicers who tell them they need a celle phone, but we can survive without it... I know that's a shame, we are living in a world of madness and where some people manipulates the other to have money .

One: You're either extremely popular (give out your number to the world maybe?) or people find you annoying and want to annoy the hell out of you.
Two: Maybe people give you their phone number just to get you out of their hair..seriously.
Three: Youre either calling people while theyre at work/school/or busy or you're just annoying and they'll simply call you back later.

If this bothers you so much maybe you should start deleting people off your address list and call the rest and tell them to remove your number from their list too. You're such a whiner. Go fix your hair!

I got my new phone from Altell FREE!! Only because ive had my old one since 2000! Im so happy!!

Well for one you may need the phone for an emergency, but personally I think people get cell phones because its "in".

I have a wife and 2 kids, so its important to be able to be reached, in case I need to pick something up, or if there is a family emergency.

I also have a business, and if I want to stay competitive, I must stay available for communication. The worlds pace is moving faster and faster, and you dont want to be the slow one in my industry!

Plus I like to have the ability to schedule dates with my friends while I am out and about, instead of missing a rare opportunity to hang out because there was a stale message on the machine at home!

hope that helps
