They don't deserve to be in the top 10. They didn't just lose, they got crushed in every aspect of the game. Hell, their cheerleaders even gave up on 'em. The only reason they always get the high rankings is their big contract with NBC. Money talks! They haven't showed anything this season.

I am a Notre Dame fan as well, but Brady Quinn has not lived up to the expectations set for him. Charlie Weiss is trying to make him into another Tom Brady, and honestly the kid just doesn't seem to have the innate talent that Tom has. The ND team was highly overrated at the beginning of the season simply because Quinn was an off-season front runner for the Heisman. Hopefully Weiss takes a good hard look at the team's short-comings and makes some adjustments. There's still potential there, even with a mediocre start this year...

They lost to Michigan. At home. By alot. They are definitely still "Notre Dame" but in case you haven't noticed, that hasn't meant much in the past 15 years or so. Back then you might forgive them a slip up here and there. Not now; they need to earn their way. Losing to Michigan as they did last Saturday was NOT the way to do it.
ND has a tough schedule this year so here's hoping they can rally and pull back into the top 5 by December.

They're already out of the Top 10, but they'll be out of the polls after they lose to Michigan State for the 8th time in 10 meetings on Saturday.

1. The polls have already been out since yesterday, they're at 12 in the AP poll
2. I don't think anyone ever considered Michigan to be "lowly."

of course they should fall out of the top 5. they shouldve never been #2 anyway. the media is soooo biased because they're "notre dame". you even said it yourself. those guys are just average, man. they should just get ready for the outback bowl.

of course
when you lose you should fall out of the top 10
but when you get stomped like that you should get knocked out the top 15 or 20
this was the same way Ohio State beat them last year
I think they will lose 2 more games this year

No team that loses badly should be in the top 5 when there are so many good, undefeated teams this early in the season.

they never should have been in the top 5. but if they beat USC in november, they may have a shot to go back in the top 5.
