I always use the more expensive brands because usually, you get what you pay for when it comes to makeup. However, I have tried many of the top mascaras but I always go back to Max Factor 2000 Calorie. It is the greatest all-rounder out there and instantly gives you gorgeous lashes without the smudging. It's at it's very best when you have been using it for a couple of weeks and it thickens up a bit. I used to work in Boots while I was at uni and must have sold bucketloads of it because I wore it every day on the checkout (not even a counter or anything) and just about every other person I served asked me what mascara I was wearing and then bought it themselves. Some wouldn't even believe they were my real eyelashes! It's absolutely brilliant - take it from me.

First of all, did you know that most mascaras (nearly 80%) have an ingredient called guano in it? Do you know what that is? It is bat poop! You read it right, bat feces. Ever wonder why you were told to throw away your mascara at 3 months? It's because they cannot kill the bacteria, they can only retard its growth-for about 3 months! Scarry huh. Now when you get that little bump on your lid, or your eye starts watering for no reason, or when you get that stinging sensation in your eye, maybe the culprit is your mascara.
Arbonne International is a health and wellness company that offers a wide array of skincare and make-up that is pure, safe, and beneficial using herbal and botanically based ingredients. No mineral oils, animal by-products, lanolin, dyes, artificial fragrances. Only natural ingredients that won't harm you or your skin. It has the best make-up and I love their mascara. It is more expensive than your "box store" brands (more comparitively priced to Clinique) but it is well worth it. What's more though is that it lasts longer. Much. Contact me if you would like more info and I will let you know how to get 35% off retail price: sunnyside_64@yahoo.com. Hope you try it, because I know you will love it!

There are 2 I like the best: mascara from Merle Norman and mascara from Artistry (an affiliate of Quixstar). Both of these mascaras are smudgeproof and long lasting and anti-clumping. They both don't irritate the eye area like some mascaras I have used do.

Hi as i have sensitive eyes ive got to be careful which ones i use. But the best one i used is pump up the volume mascara from avon, its by colour trend. But i recently got a set in a bag from Avon and it had a mascara called daring curves, it doesnt say its water proof or anything, but the curve does last 12 hours and it doesnt smuge off. I dont know about water proof as i havent really tested it with water. Rimmel volume boost in water proof is good to and is quite cheap. Just remeber to always check it is waterproof and you should have no problem. You dont need to pay a fortune for mascaras as i have made this mistake and there not even as good as the cheap ones i have tried.

The mascaras that give the most dramatic effect are the double ended ones where you apply the white stuff, then the mascara itself over the top... Bourjois did it first, now there are several available.
I would say go for one that gives best effect, and if not resilient/waterproof enough, seal with Benefit's She-Laq. It's pretty versatile, and can be used to seal masara, eyeliner, lippy etc.

Blinc Kiss Me Mascara. It's absolutely brilliant. Won't smudge, clump and is completely waterproof. The mascara forms little tubes over the eyelashes and when you're ready to take it off, you just apply warm water and gentle pressure and the tubes slide off your lashes. I now it sounds bizarre - but it really does work. There are very few shops that sell it in the UK, but it's readily available on the internet. Can't recommend it highly enough!

You will probably NOT believe me, but Avon has some of the best mascara I have ever tried. They have a variety, and I like them all. the wash off waterproof is the best. They even have a nicer brow liner than Revlon, although I wouldn't use the foundation Avon makes, It has an oily look and feel

ok you may not believe me but covergirl fantastic lash mascara in the red tube, is the best i've ever used and i've tried a lot of them! i mean every other make up i use is high end but this mascara intensifies my lashes like you wouldn't believe, i don't even like cover girl products! i actually saw it in cosmopolitan magazine it got best mascara and also got an award, give it a try you won't regret it, i also like perscriptives fake eyelashes mascara, its pretty good too,i was reading a article in glamour written by beauty consultants and they were saying that there isn't a difference between 5 dollar mascara and 30 dollar mascara, that covergirl mascara proves it!

I work in a shop that sells all the expensive brands and the most popular ones are YSL false lash effect or any Lancome ones, but all these new types of brushes that are coming out that are plastic insteadof fibre may make a difference, you could maybe try one of those!

I have short lashes, so I love Maybelline's Lash Discovery. It's has a really small wand, and I bought a waterproof formula. The best part is it has never smudged before.
