The correct amount of air pressure in your tires will give you better gas mileage, better tire wear, and better handling.
Too much pressure will give you a rough ride.
Too little pressure will make it feel like you are driving in mud.
The only time to run less than recommended pressure in your tires is when there is snow on the roads.

There are no pluses really for having too much or too little air in your tires unless you are going off road, then the lower air pressure can give you getter grip.
For most cars, too much or little air will cause your tires to wear, either in the center (too much) or on the outer edges (too little).
To little air pressure is also associated with heat build-up and the tire failures on the Explorers.

It's actually worse to have too much air in your tires than too little, that leads to blowouts (which can make you lose control of the car completely, especially at high speeds). But having too little air isn't good either, because it makes your tires "doughy" and can make it really hard to control the car (not to mention if there's no air in the tire it will come off the rim and if you keep driving you're in for a VERY expensive repair).

Too little air you don't get as good traction,
too much your tires wear unevenly.

Improper tire pressure also leads to poor gas mileage.

I don't know any advantages to not having your tires properly inflated.

if you have too much or too little air in your tires you risk ruining your tires. if you keep the right amount of air in your tires you will be safer and you also will save on gas.

under inflated tires will give you a lower gas mileage but on the other hand they will give you a much smoother ride. I'll take the improved gas mileage over the ride....Good Luck!

too muc will give a harder ride plus is bad on the tires. Too little is bad on the tires also, and gives you worse gas milage, but I don't think it is uncumfortable.
