I'm thinking about moving from California to Henry county in Northern Kentucky. Does anyone know what this place is like? Should I move there?

It depends on you lifestye right now. I lived in Louisville, KY for a year, and found many things to be a culture shock to me. I have lived in CA, NV, VA, and OH. But Kentucky was quite different. There is little or no culture there, because the population is almost all white, especially outside the big cities. The white supremist and racists are not afraid of showing their white pride. Swasticas and southern flags are prevalent. My asian boyfreind was not comfortable nearly everywhere we went. When driving through some of the rural areas, you can see where peoples priorities are, because many many times there would be a $30K-$40K pickup truck outside of a trailer home. Country boys and country life is very important to them. Some hardly have a grasp on the English language, it was tough to decifer what some are saying. The fun things we did was visiting the Bourbon distilleries, and took a couple of great nature hikes. The bugs are pretty insane out there though. All in all, I could not live in a place like that, but like I said, it really depends onthe life you live now.

I have lived in Northern Kentucky most of my life. I was born in Covington, that is at the very tip of the map directly across from Cincinnati, Ohio. Locals would not exactly consider Henry County in Northern Kentucky, though it may appear that way on a map. The area in general is pretty conservative. I know lots of people who have moved from Kentucky to California, but few move the other direction. haha.... Mark Twaine once said that if the world ended this is the part of the country he would want to be in because everything happens 20 years later here. haha.... So, maybe it is a good time for you to move. haha.... If you have specific questions I am happy to try and answer them.
