I'm living in a dorm and I would like to know what everyone thinks are the best ways to meet oher people! I tend to be on the shy side before you get to know me and I wnat to get out there and meet some new faces!

I have met some people right here and e-mailed messages to them and they e-mail me back.
Keep using Yahoo Answerer's for a while and try to get to level 2.
When somebody gives you a decent answer to a question you've posted (like this answer) you can link up and e-mail a message to them to get a clarification on part of their answer or to discuss things in further detail with them.
Why don't you practice this now and e-mail me by clicking on to my picture or name. Ill e-mail you back by clicking the picture or name.
Wait a second; If you are new to yahoo answers you need to set up your ability and or approval to use yahoo answerer's messaging ability. Because if you do not turn that on by approving other people using yahoo answerr's to not only answere your questions but send a message to you to you won't get any.
I am going to send a brief message to you to show you that you will not receive it if you haven't yet registered with yahoo answers your approval to get messages.

Be active, thats really all it takes. I expand my network, by being a member of teams and leagues (bowling, golf, darts, pool) it gives you a chance to socialize. Also going out to the bars, you can meet all sorts of people. If you are the introvert, and are shy, you could use online conversational services, such as this or other. In the dorms at college, they normally hold events or socials where you can meet people in person. By the way, Hi, my name is Adam. You met one person. just by asking this question.

The best way to meet other ppl is to be the first one to open the channels of communication. just go up to them, extend your hand & introduce yourself. then get to know 'bout them, their hobbies, likes, dislikes, their opinion 'bout living in a dorm anything! it really works believe me. i too was a shy person but after i started reaching out to ppl friends just started pouring in. the main thing is to be confident 'bout oneself. don't feel bad tho if u're cold shouldered by some 'coz they're the ones who close their lives by doing so. There are always others(:

just BE YOURSELF! go out & chill with other group of people (bar, parties, concerts, etc.) especially with fun-loving person. you'll learn how to get along with person.

go out. maybe to the mall, the movies, amusement parks...even at church. or join some clubs at school.
