I am probably one of the few left on the planet who does not have a cell phone. However after the teen used it to save her own life this week, I am rethinking my decision.

I own one and use it probably once or twice a week. I don't use it to chit chat with people, way to expensive. That's what my house phone is for. My cell is for emergencies or if I need to call someone to say I'm late or something important like that.

I use my mobile in place of my house phone and have saved a ton of money in doing so. The only word of advice I can offer is this: Unless you have no other options, steer clear of typical pre-paid services. If you haven't any other options, check your area for a company called "Metro PCS". They offer pre-paid service with no credit check, but the minutes are unlimited. Best of luck!!
