Depends on the mouse
the optical eye is getting a bunch of reflections from you mouse pad and is being confused.
You do not have a problem just leave the mouse on your desk.

If the surface you have on your mouse pad is shiny it will cause this. Use a mouse pad with a matte finish.

Is your mouse pad reflective? If it is try using a mouse pad that does not reflect. This is prob what is causing it.

optical rodants dont need a pad. try using it without it and see if it helps. or it could be from a reflection off something hitting the laser.
