Depends on what type of place you want to live in and if you're single/married, how many kids, etc. For a single person, $78K will be ok. (Keep in mind an efficiency in Manhatten goes for about $1500/month--and that's for a small efficiency. Consider Brooklyn, Queens, and Jersey City in your housing search.)

I think you mean SALARY, not SALE. Anyway, living in New York City is mighty expensive. Rent alone will break your bank, so that amount of annual salary is not really enough to live in and survive in NYC.

yes you can live here. I would say on that you can live okay, have a small apt near the cool parts of manhattan and still go out. Its not a fortune, but certainly enough to support yourself comfortably.

I Think you'll survive, and if your lucky you won't have to apply for foodstamps. You might have to eat shrimp and lobster everyday for dinner but hey , theres nothing too good for the working folk !! Good Luck

It's not enough unless you want to live like a bum with several roommates.
