If it's a sharp stabbing pain that comes and goes and makes you very sick it could be your gall bladder. Go get it checked out just in case. I had my gall bladder removed but before the surgery I had sharp stabbing pains that went through my chest into my back, right between my shoulder blades. It made it very hard to breathe. Hope this helps.

Could be nothing more than gas pressure or lack of hydration. Sometimes when we don't drink enough water we get sharp pains up under the breasts and in the rib area. Feel Better.

See a doctor if it concerns you.
Sometimes tissue gets caught in your rib cage.
It could be nothing or it could be life threatening.
Seek professional advice.

If it is your right side, could be gall bladder - if it is left side, lower, could be diverticulitis. Best to try to flush your system - drink plenty of fluids - if it continues, try to contact your doctor.
