if you own one thats a waste of money,
we hired one in july for going to wales and it is soooo slow
ok we got it to 100mph with a full car and a bike on the back but it could hardly get up hills at slow speed and we nearly burnt out the clutch reversing up a steep hill and i was stinking all week

As with a lot of 'new' cars, the new zaf is sh1t compared even to old one!
Lots of plasticy gimmicky things and bad design, like a so called aircraft style hand-brake lever (until I saw it I never realised that planes had hand-brakes), that busts anything that you put in storage pocket below it!
I agree that the 1.6 couldn't pull the skin off of rice-pudding and should never have been put in a car that size. It's ugly, badly designed and not even half the car it used to be.
Going forward, by going backwards?

Its not a bad car, but if you need a mpv you need to go for a previa or the mercedes. The Zafira is equivalant to the nasty serena.

1.6 are very sluggish and very typical of that car , i have a 1.6 16v and that is just as sluggish .
