chess burns up a lot of memory. doing this should help.
you can increase your memory by..going to start button,settings, control panel,system, advance tab,performance,advance tab,virtual memory,change,make it 526kb or higher,click apply then ok

Log off right away. Log on inmediately and go back to the same rrom you were playing. Chances are the game still waiting for you.
