The Pope's speech quoted from a book recounting a conversation between 14th century Byzantine Christian Emperor Manuel Paleologos II and an educated Persian on the truths of Christianity and Islam.
"The emperor comes to speak about the issue of jihad, holy war," the Pope said.
"He said, I quote, 'Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached'."
Benedict described the phrases on Islam as "brusque", while neither explicitly agreeing with nor repudiating them.

Accusations like the Pope is insulting the Prophet Mohammed and declaring him as evil and inhuman are based on one passage of his speech. In this passage he quotes Byzantine emperor Manuel II Paleologus from a dialogue with a Persian on the subject of Christianity and Islam in 1391. He refers to the quotation as a “forcefully expression” with “startling brusqueness”: “Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached”. Later the emperor “goes on to explain in detail the reasons why spreading the faith through violence is something unreasonable.

He quoted a 14th century anti-Islamic text by a Christian emperor.
By doing so, he showed that he is following a particular path - that idea of empero.
Pope made a big mistake by doing so. The relation between Islam and Christianity is complicated but he made it more complicated - and it will have very negative result.

Radical Muslims live in the past and don't see the present or the future as having any thing to do with them . They still are fighting the wars with the Christians
Like the Jew's their religion is their culture and their lives .
They can criticize other countrys religions and people , but don't defend your self or your country . In their eyes they hate you .
