I didn't care for the suprise either. I was really disappointed that the Indian couple was gone, they were so in love and treated each other so perfectly...I would like to see them race more.

I thought the surprise elimination was great -- though it would have been nice if they had waited a while to use it. Our first clue should probably have been that there were 12 teams instead of the usual 11!
Also, having teams leave in different groups from the pit stop based on their arrival team seems cool compared to earlier versions, when everyone was even again at the start of the next leg of the race.
Phil *did* warn the contestants that there would be surprises! I can't wait to see what else is in store for the competitors on TV's best reality show.

Phil said there would be surprises. My theory is they need to cut the numbers early to shave the airfare budget.
I too hated seeing the Muslim guys go and the couple. I was looking forward to seeing them through the race.
But its always a little strange in the beginning while everyone is getting into the swing of the race.

I think that this amazing race is a joke! The contestants are weak and the show is fixed! The indian couple would have still be in the race if the producers didnt have people pull the Alabama moms up the wall! For the longest time they couldn't even climb up one rung on the rope ladder, but as fatigue sets in they get up the wall. You figure that one out. The one legged girl was also pulled up the wall. And worst of all there is no way possible that the kentucky (woman) hillbilly could climb that wall! No way possible!

I watched it. I thought the surprise elimination was great - but I would have rather seen the fighting married couple leave!

I agree wholeheartedly... I liked those guys!
... but a game's a game... It's not as though it was fixed...
But you're correct...a pit-stop is where an elimination should take place... unless it's stated otherwise. i.e. "Lose this challenge, and you may be eliminated"
Needless to say, people will be racing MUCH harder from now on...
