Well you didn't pay attention in economics class now did you?

The rich pay all the taxes. As you make more money, Uncle Sam cuts into your pay check more. And you enter a new "tax bracket" As you earn more, your bracket increases so does your tax rate. So obviously the rich pay all the taxes.

"The working poor" they DON'T work they want free government handouts. Which liberals support. We republicans say get up, get a job and earn a living not recieve it.

In fact, the rich pay 88.34% of all federal income taxes.
Please do some research prior to sounding like a typical uneducated liberal

Let's see. The richest 2% owns the big businesses and pays the majority of taxes. They also create the jobs that if the working poor are not making enough money they can work. They are also the ones that employ the middle class. Big business also manufactures the items you use everyday.

So, even though I'm no where near that level, I would have to say the richest 2% and big business. Not supporting them is the equivalent to socialism/communism, which I do not support.

You can see by many of the answers you have received that Americans are brainwashed to accept this bullshit about the rich deserving what they have, paying all of the taxes and that we as ordinary middle or lower class people should put up with the favoritism paid to the rich because we too can be rich. With todays laws, taxes, education etc. most poor will stay poor, most of the middle class will drop in class to lower middle class or poor. We don't get angry and vote the bastards out because we truly believe this hype. As your income gets higher, and I mean way high, higher than any human being needs or deserves, your taxes should also get way high. The highest tax bracked used to be up around 85 or 90%. This is only on your income in excess of a certain amount, say on income over 10 mil. Now the highest tax bracket, no matter if you earn 60, 70 mil per year is 35%. The richest people are not paying their share. The people earning 200-400 thou are probably paying close to their share, but not your richest 2%. I am on the side of the working and non working poor and the middle class. We truly need some kind of revolution in this country, but we won't get it as long as people are brainwashed like many of those answering your question.

I'm on the side which gives me and my family a better life, which is neither. Does anyone not realize that the richest 2% includes BOTH Repubs and Dems? Were the Clintons poor before Bill was elected? I believe they owned stocks, and were involved in BIG BUSINESS as well. And I don't remember spotting them or ANY politician in the FOODSTAMP line or at the UNEMPLOYMENT office. Have you?

Richest 2%. Although I grew up in a family that was so far beneath the poverty line that we didn't know we were poor, through a lot of hard work and education I have set myself on the path to becoming one of the "richest 2%".

And so have all my brothers and sisters.

So, I'm on the side of the richest 2%.

They are not in conflict. When is the last time a poor person wrote you a paycheck.

One person starts a business and works hard. People like their service/product, so he/she hires people to produce/service to meet demand. They become big due to popularity, and because they took the original risk, they enjoy the rewards. If there was no reward, people would not risk.

Considering that 85% of American Millionaires are self-made, maybe you should instead get any about the road-blocks that the government places in peoples way to stop them from succeeding. Government is not the solution, it is the problem.

When I was among the working poor, the Democrats raised my taxes, then cried about the poverty class.
The Democrat Party is hypocrite.
They get millions of dollars from big business at election time.
They also get millions from Big Labor who takes the money from us work & file union members.
