In order to answer that question, we'd all have to know what kind of writing you've done in the past. Based on your critical thinking skills, I'd wager you will have a tough time in English Comp.
Good Luck!

"[H]ow will writing for college courses be differ[ent] from the kind of writing a person ha[s] done in the past?"
I don't know where you go to school now, but that will not be acceptable in college. The above changes just cover your grammar, not style.
Try, "In what way will writing for my college courses differ from my current practices?"

Its not really that different, but its a higher education level, the topics will be more advanced. The length of your essays will be longer; I've had to write essays that were about 20 pages. You'll also probably be expected to be able to produce a solid essay, on the spot. For example, don't be surprised if you get an "essay exam" where you sit down with your blue book and have to write a 5 page essay instead of taking an exam.

Writing for college IS similar to other school work except for the professional manner of writing and the level of detail needed. You will have to cite your sources, and take an 'oath' to not copy work. You will have to write complex and complete arguments for your point of view.
If you've done this in the past, then college writing will be a piece of cake.
