why is it when i write to a hotmail account i get backa postmaster delivery account not valid but when i go to see if the hotmail e-mail address is available it is in use....it has been more than 6 months....

Just because the email account is TAKEN, doesn't mean it's ACTIVE.
After 30 days of non-use, MSN deactivates the account.

After not using a hotmail account I had set up on a computer at the library I forgot what the password was. So after slightly adjusting my email addy I signed up for a new account. This sounds like your problem... Maybe after answering the secret question you can get them to send the info to your yahoo acount.

I don't know why this is happening to you but I have had the same problem recently. Hotmail must be having some kind of problem.

there mailbox could be full, or be suspended. or when it was getting setup it something went wrong, or there could be a probelm on the hotmail servers.
