The first thing on people's mind about Langkawi is the sandy beaches. It is an island along the Straits of Malacca, located north of Penang. The waters for beaches on the main island is not as crystal clear as those found in Tioman, Pulau Redang or Phuket. But the sand on many of the beaches are nice. It is still a very good beach holiday island. It is also safe to go now when Tioman and Pulau Redang are not due to the different monsoon that affects it.
Available are high to low end accomodations for all.
There is the Air Hangat Hot Springs -includes a 3-tier hot spring fountain
There is the Seven Wells Waterfalls if you want to sightsee or swim in the cold clear water.
There is also the Underwater World Langkawi if you want to see the big fishes in the gigantic tank and other fishes in smaller tanks..
You can also go to the crocodile farm to see the crocodiles and show.
As Langkawi is made up of many small island on top of the bigger main island, a boat island tour is a must go.

A very nice relaxing beach holiday island. There is also a small town for you to buy your stuff and local produce.
