Your doctor is an Ahole that was trying to squeeze info out of you. And yeast infections have little to do with sex and a lot to do with hygiene and diet.

You can get a yeast infection at anytime for many reasons. Least of all sex. Being on an anibiotic can cause a yeast infection. Sitting around in wet clothes can cause a yeast infection. Stress can also cause a yeast infection. Anything that can change the condition in the vagina can lead to a yeast infection. Sex is the least likely cause. If the doctor doesn't know this stuff you should find another doctor.

Yes a virgin can get a yeast infection, babies can get yeast infections as well! She may have been asking you those questions, just to assure that there wasn't anything else she needed to look for, some sexual transmitted diseases have the same symthoms as a yeast infections, although in-proper for her to ask, maybe she was trying to rule everything out. If the yeast infection culture comes back negative and you are in fact sexually active. I would fess up so that she can find the real problem. Let me give you a hit that will help with preventing yeast infections, wear panty liners if you find you are moist down below, stay out of wet bathing suits for long periods of time and number 1 cure aid is eat yogurt, yogurt helps keep your levels of yeast balanced.
P.S. If you are sexually active, wash up after. Be safe and be cautious. Good luck!

That is wrong for her to assume your sexually active just because your a teenager. If you are you should be honest with her, for the sake of your health. It is not THAT uncommon for virgins to get yeast infection. I've seen a 1yr old get yeast infections. Yeast infections can be caused by antibiotics, birth control pills, Hot weather or non-ventilating clothing, wearing your swimsuit too long all the time, stress, high carb intake, & diabetes.
Other possible causes can be soaps, detergents, powders or other personal hygenie products.
Yeast infection can also be caused by repeated intercourse over a short period of time but it's not the only cause

I agree with getting a new doctor. If she does not believe what you say or not know that virgins can get a yeast infection she needs to go back to medical school.
I have had my share of yeast infections. When I am taking antibiotics I seem to get them as a side affect. Even my doctor tells me to watch for yeast when she prescribes me medication.
Also a dear friend of mine with Aids gets a yeast build up in her mouth sometimes and she is NOT sexually active due to her Aids.

Go to Webmd. Lost of info. Hope you get the problem solved in your favor. I would say a girl can get a yeast infection...without sex or being a virgin. How about when a girl takes antibiotics and needs to eat yogurt after the antibiotics are done? Food for thought.

It is uncommon, but its not impossible. There are tons of ways to get yeast infections, they are not sexually transmitted, they can be however. If your not having sex you dont need to worry about what she thinks, but if you are you need to be honest so that she can test you for other things. Also if you get yeast infections frequently something is wrong. Just be sure to take care of yourself better.

Absolute crap, of course you can get them as a virgin. Lots of women get them after taking antibiotics or certain bubble baths (never use dish liquid). There is a normal level of bacteria that lives in that area that prevents yeast infections, when the good bacteria are killed by antibiotics or bath soap the yeast thrives.
So your Dr. is an idiot.
Good Luck!
