Im wondering. I was cleaning ma earrings when i pulled one off on accident. My ear looks the same just wit a hole. I tried to put it back in but it was hard at first to line it up right, so i felt my ear between my fingers. It feels like there is a ball between my skin like around the peircing. Im wondering if that is how a keloid starts or not..my ear hasnt swollen or anything at all just a lil pus which the doctor told me would be fine if i kept cleaning. So, does a keloid start inside the ear? I have trouble turnin them or nothing like that

A keloid is a scar that doesn't know when to stop. When the skin is injured, cells grow back to fill in the gap. Somehow, they "know" when the scar tissue is even with the contour of the skin, at which point they stop multiplying. When the cells keep on reproducing, the result is a what is called a overgrown (hypertrophic) scar or a keloid.
A hypertrophic scar is a thick, raised, smooth area that is confined to the site of injury. It diminishes over a period of one year or more.
A keloid, by contrast, may extend beyond the site of injury. Keloids do not subside

I don't know if a keloid begins in the inside of an ear but the ones I have seen have been down by the earing hole and look like tiny boobs growning out of peoples ear, they are not very attractive and can grow pretty big I think you sohould get it taken care of ASAP!

a keloid generally starts as a small ball of skin. You probably have developed one. Actually, a keloid will not bother you as long as you keep the ear clean and keep earings in the ear. If, however, you do not turn them periodically, the hole will close faster.

That ball has junk in it, trust me! It's junk in there! You gotta get that junk out! Otherwise it just sits in there. I hate to be right but don't be afraid to pick me as the right answer, cause it's junk in that ball, girl, I am serious. A keloid will get thick and shiny. Love ya now, and take care of that ear.
