Butterfly, give her a call and let her know that the city/township ordinances don't allow a car to se left on the property for this long and that they can fine you for it should it not be moved. Sorry to push ya, tell her, but I cannot afford the fines. This puts it in her court again and the pressure to move it is greater. If she does not move it, I would call and have it towed and blame the city/township for it -"because it was parked there way too long".
Good luck to ya!! GaryT

Well, I guess it depends on whether the money to tow it away is still worth more to you than having it out of your yard is. You could always donate it to a charity, they will usually come and tow it away for free (although your friend may not still be your friend after that!) And, come to think of it, you may run into roadblocks with that if the title is not in your name.
Seriously, give her a DEFINITE ultimatum - a date and a time. ANd make it reasonable. You probably want to give her a week or two. Tell her EXACTLY what you will do if the car is not out of your yard by then. (You will have it towed to wherever, you will donate it to [some specific] charity, etc.). That way there are no surprises. You've clearly stated your expectation, you've clearly delineated the consequences of not getting the car out of your yard. The rest is up to her.

Can you get in the vehicle? If you can put it in neutral roll it out to the street and leave it there. If you cant get in then I will give her about a week more and make it known that you are serious that you will have it towed at her expense, I think you can do that by telling the police then they will order it towed and who ever picks it up will pay for it. The best way would be to roll it out to the street call the cops and say its been sitting their for about 1 month and nobody seems to know who's car it is. They will put a notice on it saying to move it or it will be towed. Then if nobody moves it they pick it up at the owners expense about a month later!!

If she were just an acquaintance, I'd consider towing it. However, she's your friend. Give her a chance. I'm sure she isn't trying to take advantage of your kindness... she probably just needs more time and assumes you will understand since the two of you are friends.
Be a good buddy and give her a call. Find out exactly what trouble she's having and how much more time she thinks she'll need. She'll appreciate you even more and will express that.
I know... it sucks since she should be the one calling but... friends are like that sometimes. Don't let this ruin your relationship. Just my opinion! Best wishes :-)

I've kinda been in this situation. I would tell her either the landlord (if you rent) or the police (if the law would sort of apply) came to you and said you had like 10 days to get the junk car off the property or it would be towed at the owners expense. Then, if she still doesn't listen, have it towed and hand her the bill. At least if you say it was the landlord or the police, it takes the heat off of you, yeah know? Good luck!

You said she was a ‘good friend’ so perhaps try to give her the benefit of the doubt for now.
Try to find out what is preventing her from picking the car up.
If she is having ‘financial’ problems, and it isn’t too inconvenient to have the car in your yard, let her know that you will give her a bit longer to sort things out.
If it turns out that she isn’t the ‘good friend’ you thought she was, then tell her that you are going to push/tow the car out on to the street, and leave it there.
Remind her that her car is her responsibility !!!
It may be best if you refer the matter to the police, and ask them for advice.
Whilst I appreciate that the car isn’t yours, you could still be charged for dumping it on the street if the friend claims it was left in your care.
You don’t want to be hit with the cost of having the police tow the car away, as well as the fine for dumping the car on the street.
Good luck !!!

Call her and tell her she has to collect it by (name a date) or you will have it towed away, tell her it is becoming a problem for you, and you have had it there for much longer than she asked for, now you want your yard back!! Don't just tow it or you could end up in trouble, not sure if she could have to prosecuted for that, so tell her to come and get it first. Or have your solicitor send her a letter.

I would lie and tell her you received a letter from the county or city and they are giving you 10 days to remove the vehicle or they will tow it and bill you for the tow!

She is using you. Tell her that it needs to be out of there, like within 5 days, or it is getting towed, and the bill is coming to her. Stop being nice about it. She needs to hold up to her end of the deal.
