the box said my HDD was "512MB unified system memory" but when i go to the system on the console it says 12GB

512 mb is not anywhere close to 12 gb.for example,on an mp3 player,512 mb will hold about 340 songs,12 gb will hold roughly 8,000 songs so they are definetly different.

No, 512Mb is about 1/2 Gb (or is that what you meant, did you forget the slash between the 1 and the 2?)

No, 512MB are not the same as 12GB. 1000 MB = 1 GB

NO WAY. MB is less than even 1 GB. I think 512MB is equivelent to 1GB.
