If I had to chose out of the 3 I would go with the hamster. But out of other pets, I would say the gerbil. They don't take up much room, the don't require floor time, although you should play with them once in a while, and cleaning is minimal. I own 9 gerbils right now and all I do for maintenance is change their litter one a week, although I could go 2 weeks, (gerbils don't poop and pee as much as hamsters) and I check their food and water everyday and refresh when they get low. Other than that I jusy play with them.

A hamster doesn't get as smelly as fast as the other two. You can go a couple weeks without cleaning a hamster cage. Rabbits you have to clean every other day. Also, I left my hamster home by itself for 3 days and it was fine. I don't know if you can do that with the other two.

Pigs. you have to change thier cage once a week. feed/water then once a day. They usually dont like the ball cause if they get turned over once, they wont run in it anymore. So they are really low maintenence.

They all need feeding more than once a day and they need their cages cleaned out quite regularly. I would say a hamster needs the least care cuz it is the smallest.

goldfish. Guinea pigs need a lot of care. Fresh veggies, lots of floor time, grooming for long haired piggies. Check out www.cavycompendium.com

Hamster if they are kept in a nice size cage you can get away with cleaning it once a week.

The other two their cages need to be cleaned more often.
