My kid sis is studying nursing in Jamaica....this is because the school had a program of switching its students to newyork after an exam taken. but now the system has being changed. so its like she´s stuck. She cant switch to newyork and she complains so much of the country. Now my worry is, We need to transfer her to CA.... My QUESTION IS.. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A GOOD INSTITUTION IN CA?? A university not too expensive? pls any university in california or the closest city in california that is cheap. I know schools in the states are kinda expensive cos they re known world wide.I know nothing about California and Ive never being there, pls someone tell me a good school very cheap in california. Pls time is not on her side she´s only 17 turning 18 by Dec.Very intelligent. I wouldn´t want her to mix up with people that might change her motives in life. Pls !!pls!!pls!! she´s my only kid sister. Pls someone tell me a cheap good school, for her to study.

If you are looking for cheap, stay out of CA. UC schools offer a great education but are expensive. CSU schools are bit cheaper. If you are not a resident, you will be charged a lot more. Another thing you must consider is housing.
I live near UCI the rent is very high.
Google UCI rentals and check out what housing costs around here.
She will need a car too. Most kids get BMW's from daddy.
Hope your dad has a lot of money.

The California State University system and the University of California system throughout the state are both good and inexpensive. Once you establish residency (usually 1-2 years) it's much cheaper.

No school is cheap. However, UCs (University of California) and CSUs (California State University) tend to offer a very good education for not a lot of money. You can search for them online and get a lot of information. Good luck.
